Hello folks! Patience is a virtue for week 6. We’re trying our best to keep it together, almost regretting over-commitment to this office/gym makeover. Haven’t quite made as much progress this week. But, we’ll truck on! By the way, give a round of applause to all of the ORC participants making some waves. Some amazing transformations already!
Progression: Week 1 | Week 2 | Week 3 | Week 4 | Week 5 | Week 6
If you came here from the ORC site, hello! I’m Sanju Patel. By day, I work behind a desk, typically crunching numbers. By night, you can find me in a garage. My wife and I purchased a home in Texas 3 years ago – a quick close without costly bells and whistles. As lifelong fans of DIY, we’ve decided to invest into our home as our family grows with an open invitation to see our process from start to finish.
This weekend we’ll tackle wall treatment and building out the gym zone. Our goal will be to build out a pegboard kind of like this (credit: Lisa Medina Wildfire Breaking Free). Surprisingly, we found this little gem through the Better Homes & Garden site.
We intended to build a work desk, which we still want to do, but have opted to find a temporary solution. The engineered walnut matches our current floors and it’s a downgrade from the current behemoth of a desk, but it will save us a ton of room. The wife really loves the footrest. What do you think?
Delivery is expected next week, so cutting it close. Crossing fingers. The following week, we’ll start working on the ceiling beams which should carry us through reveal week!
As always, send us any questions and don’t forget to follow our Instagram stories. By the way, there are SUPERB featured designers participating in the One Room Challenge with Better Homes and Gardens as a media partner. These artists totally rock and will not disappoint. Check it out!
